After years of success in Austin, Texas, South By Southwest made its debut in Sydney, and electriclime° were there to take it all in.
The event has been held in the USA since 1987, with 700 people turning up to its very first day.
However, it has taken on a life of its own and the reach of the event has meant it has become a major worldwide occasion.
Its expansion this year headed to Sydney, Australia, where over eight days attendees were treated to industry experts in Screen, Music, Games and Tech & Innovation.
Ahead of the event, Colin Daniels, Managing Director of SXSW Sydney, said: “Sydney is home to a diverse and thriving creative community. The spirit of innovation, creativity and adventure is in our DNA and we are thrilled to showcase this to the world. SXSW Sydney will be a focal point for innovators, not only from Sydney, but all of Australia, the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.”
electriclime°’s Executive Producer Shahn Devendran and Production Manager Shaye Guillory were in attendance throughout the week to hear from guests such as Black Mirror creator Charlie Booker and Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman.
