After nearly five years with electriclime°, Senior Producer Dora Claire David is moving on to pastures new.
Dora joined electriclime° in August 2018, diligently heading up the Singapore team and being the spearhead of production on set.
After graduating from the LASALLE College of the Arts in Singapore in 2011, Dora went on to gather a wealth of experience in the industry, from becoming a Production Assistant before moving into a Production Coordinator role with her previous companies.
She then took on the role with electriclime° and over the years of her time with the production company Dora has headed up multiple projects with some of the biggest clients, including Audi, Porsche, Acer and many more.
Those projects led to great recognition in the APAC region, through Campaign Brief’s The Work and also leading the team to a bronze for Video/Production Company at the Marketing-Interactive Agency of the Year Awards in 2020 and then silver in 2022.
Her shoots have taken her around the world, from Berlin, Australia and Dubai (among others), however, it is bringing through the next generation of production talent which she feels has been the greatest part of her job as Senior Producer.
“Mentoring young talents who were trying to figure out what they wanted to do after graduating – professionally and otherwise – is my proudest moment with electriclime°,” Dora said.
“When I was starting out in the industry, I was lucky to have a number of people take a chance on me – they took time to guide and push me to achieve better. There was some tough love involved but that massively helped me get to where I am today. I’ve still got a way to go, but hope to pass that same help to those who are starting out in the industry.”
During her time with electriclime°, the advertising landscape has continued to shift and develop into exciting new areas.
The variety of fresh avenues which are open for content to be filled and created has provided an influx of opportunities within the industry.
“There are more creative avenues in which films can be produced through – more platforms have come about – TikTok, Instagram reels etc,” she added.
“It encouraged the redefining of filming but also challenged the traditional sense of it. But a challenge is always good – it keeps you from being stuck in your old ways and keeps things fresh. I’m still learning new things as I go – and I think that’s why I love being in production. No two days are the same.
“My favourite project – or rather the one that will stick with me for a long time – with electriclime° was probably the last one I did with Grace Rached, for Diablo in Kuala Lumpur.
“Everything that could go wrong, went wrong at some point due to unforeseen circumstances, and the team on this shoot was steadfast in finding solutions and working together to see it across the finishing line at top quality. It was one of the more fulfilling shoots I’ve done – and it holds a dear place in my heart for a very emotional reason.”
“Also, living in Sydney for a month to do Clipsal, was probably one of the best times of my professional life getting to live and work alongside film enthusiasts and agencies from another culture.”
Michael Ahmadzadeh, Executive Producer and Partner of electriclime°, said: “Our team has been lucky to have a talent like Dora in our team over all of these years.
“She is a natural leader, always strives for the best and has been an integral part in our success in the APAC region.
“Everyone at the electriclime° team wish Dora all the best in the next chapter in her career.”
